Anti-Israel activists on trial next week

A heavy police presence was required again last Saturday in Monmouth Street, Covent Garden as anti-Israel protesters gathered outside the Ahava shop for the fortnightly ritual of singing anti-Israel songs, parading anti-Israel slogans and giving out anti-Israel literature.

It rounded off a good week for the protesters after David Cameron seemed to hold Israel solely responsible for the suffering of the people of Gaza as well as expecting Israel to allow any ship to enter Gaza unchallenged.

Mindful of the fact that businesses on Monmouth Street are suffering due to these regular protests a small group of pro-Israel counter-demonstrators gave out leaflets which encouraged people to shop there while the anti-Israel protesters continued with their usual leaflets that scream: “Boycott Ahava”.

The website of the International Solidarity Movement, which helps to organise the protests, states: “Police in overzealous form initially attempted to claim that a poster with a picture of a small forlorn looking Palestinian child holding a barbed wire could offend passers by. Despite threatening arrest, demonstrators successfully argued their case and were able to continue to display the picture which serves only to set out the emotional distress many Palestinian children endure.”

And on 9th, 10th, 11th August anti-Israel activists are in court once again. The website goes on to state:

“In september 2009, activists blockaded the shop to prevent it from trading with the public, in December 2009 the action was repeated. Where activists set out to do what the government, Camden Trading Standards and the police have so far refused to do, stop the trade in illegal settlement goods, they are now due in court to prove their actions were justified.”

Meanwhile, the next anti-Israel protest outside Ahava is on 14th August from midday.

  1. I read somewhere that “they” collected money. Was that for the victims of the last “work”-accident in Gaza?

    http://elderofziyon.blogspot.com/2010/08/work-accident.html

I am glad to notice from your pictures that a lot of police was present which hopefully helps to secure jobs for that sector of the economy at least.

  2. just stumbled upon this
I asked the woman behind the counter if these sweet potatoes were also from Spain. “They’re from Israel,” she said. “Then I don’t want them,” I replied.
is there any idiocy these “righteous ones” don’t subscribe to?
It says this Victor Burgin is an artist – let’s hope his market value plummets and plummets and plummets from now on

    • She can, of course, refuse to eat whatever she likes (and will get as much disdain from me as those who refuse to eat non-organic which plebs have to make do with), but to picket shops like this is beyond the pale.

Looking around the beautiful and well-dressed people I don’t see anyone who ever has wanted for money; instead having indulgent mummies and daddies to fund them, often well into their 30s. Or, after smashing up a Starbucks, they can expect a graduate job at PWC.

the same might not be said for the minimum wage staff in such jobs.

I never would smash-up a shop selling Zaytoun olive oil from Arab-owned groves, because only scum do that sort of thing.

  3. Jonathan Hoffman

Let’s hope the learned Judge Bathchair-Nobrain has been eased gently but decisively into full retirement where he belongs, and that he is tending his roses rather than presiding over this case.

  4. Thanks for this again Richard.
I plan to go on a little spending spree on the 14th August at Ahava, and come out of the shop with lots of shopping bags.. armfuls.

I might also have a nice photo on my t-shirt of the rocket launched from Gaza that hit & destroyed the childrens rehab hydrotherapy center the other day. Or perhaps i will pass around a collection box for rebuilding it.
    Best wishes,
    Jude

  5. “Police in overzealous form initially attempted to claim that a poster with a picture of a small forlorn looking Palestinian child holding a barbed wire could offend passers by. If the Police really claimed “that a poster with a picture of a small forlorn looking Palestinian child holding a barbed wire could offend passers by”, then they are even bigger hypocrites than I previously thought. This country has a long and bloody history, unfortunately including also much blood on its hands acquired very recently (Iraq and ‘Afpak’, not to mention its support for the Zionist Entity).

So the idea that the British public should even have the right to feel squeamish about the picture of “a small forlorn looking Palestinian child holding a barbed wire” is total baloney.

The Police’s attitude, assuming correctly described by ISM, would explain why some people refer to them as ‘The Filth’.

    • NONAZIBOYCOTTS

How dare you try and justify calling the British police The Filth. What is wrong with them doing their job of what their paid to do in upholding the law? What would you have them do, follow the path of corruption like many other counties do? Would that suit your purpose more?

Have you ever travelled beyond Western Europe Gert to see the many countries where corruption is the norm in all governmental institutions? It’s rife. If you’re struggling with that and you have not travelled beyond Bridlington to Brussels then I can list the endless countries for you where corruption within the police force is the rule and not the exception. Just ask.

My cousin works in a special unit of the police force in the UK. She told me recently of a typical rescue mission that the police quietly undertook without fuss. A brave 16 or 17 year old Pakistani girl was courageous enough to contact them as she was being forced into a shi*ty arranged marriage (whilst you may be in awe of all Islamic traditions, I think it is rather a f*cked and shi*ty tradition). She was being threatened with death by the whole family (you know what they can be like Gert with their women and their phoney baloney “honour”). She walked into the police station with her passport and they made her disappear into safety and normal society without a trace.

That and more makes the police in this country my heroes. I take my hat off to them. I sure as hell hope that they rescue a lot more of these poor helpless girls from a fate worse than death.

What do you say Gert? Do you say live and let live? (except for the Jews of course, them and their stupid state should not even exist let alone be tolerated!) We shouldn’t as a society interfere and help those crying out for help should we? Damn police. I bet that little rescue mission story has made you rename them “The Filthier”. Interfering yobs.

We should blame the police and call them childish names because they are doing their job. Can’t you at least show a little sympathy and respect that these wonderful police men who are so courteous and professional have to deal with these soap dodgers at such a close proximity and they are not even allowed to hold their nose for the stench? Just a little sympathy Gert, not a lot, that’s all.

      • Welcome Sister,

expecting any kind of decency towards any human being (just read the latest cri de coeur from his daughter) from Gert is a futile endeavour – as to the police, remember, those are people who work for a living which I was taught long ago, turns them into “nicht satisfaktionsfähig” (not capable of giving satisfaction in a duel) and thus unacceptable for proud “between jobbers”

  6. Ignore this comment (it’s to subscribe to the thread).

  7. Finally, finally a true intellectual with deep deep substantial thoughts and sound reasoning is showing up on this blog again. It was about time. IMHO Franne wasn’t a worthy substitute. She still has a lot to learn …

    Franne Frank
here’s your chance to meet a teacher, sponsor, mentor worthy of your talents, hurry up!

  8. “The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him! This will not apply to the Gharqad, which is a Jewish tree (cited by Bukhari and Muslim).”

By the grace of Allah we has decideing to changing hour sacred charter and the Gharqad is not to be a Jewish tree instead a Zionist tree.

We know many good Jewish trees who also are auntie- Zionistic but just the Gharqad tree shall hide Zionists! The tree shall be choped Zionists shall say: ‘Where is our tree gone? Where will we hiding?”

The Jewish trees (auntie-Zionist trees) will shouting:

‘ Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him!’ and the Zionist (not Jew) will shouting:

‘Bloody tree. Where I can hide now? Who have chopped my Gharqad?

“The Police’s attitude, assuming correctly described by ISM, would explain why some people refer to them as ‘The Filth’.” -

    I doubt it Gert.

I think you’ll find that the term the filth predates the aforementioned poster by more than four decades and has been ascribed to organized crime in London later to be borrowed by the 1960′s hippie movement. I find it hard to imagine that either of these had the foresight such an act would require.

Other terms for the police include:

Aina, Bacon, Barney, Bastards, Bear, Bizzies,
    Black and White, Blue Heelers,
    Blue Meanies, Bluebottle, Blue steel,
Bobby, Bow Street Runners, Boys in blue,
Bull, Campo, Cinder Dick, Cherry Toppers, Cherry Tops, or Cherries, Chota or La Chota, Cop or Copper, Cozzes, Crackers, Crusher, Dibble or The Dibble, Dicks, Do-do nutters or The Do-dos, Dognut Patrol, and that is only a partial A-D listing.

Once again none of these are connected to the Ahava demonstration.

  10. On Danny’s grave the inscription will read:

By his Pettiness he was known…

  11. Thanks Daniel for another valuable lesson in English

but pray what is ISM – Google leads me to this

    Imperial Service Medal
    Institute for Supply Management

a search for “The Filth” however turned up this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Filth_(comics)
and that seems to be concerned mostly with a manual practice I understand kids nobody wants to play with are prone to indulge in. (the by GertieBaby adored Fraudster Ibrahim btw admits to being neither a left nor a right but a both-hander)

    • The International Solidarity Movement, Silke. Headed by an American Jew called Adam Shapiro who’s declared he’d use his Jewishness as a tool to destroy Israel.

Yet they’re allowed to pass through Israel, where they frequent the bars in Tel Aviv made safe by the security barrier which they then go to protest.

  12. I used to use a computer with an Intel chip, but Dad told me to stop because it comes from the Tekn… the Techne… a big laboratory in Israel.

  13. thanks Alec
how fitting because I’ve just listened to this
LSE Summer School 2010 – Contemporary Developments in International Law and the Role of the International Court of Justice
    Speaker: Sir Christopher Greenwood

    http://itunes.apple.com/de/podcast/lse-summer-school-2010-contemporary/id279428154?i=85405863

and am still baffled by the revelation that “international” is NOT synonymous with matters concerning Israel.

I don’t claim to have understood a lot of what was being explained except that all those claiming to be international-savvy people who show up on these threads are braggards who should have their keyboards inundated with soap water regularly whether they frequent Tel Aviv bars or not.

  14. Daniel Marks

“On Danny’s grave the inscription will read: By his Pettiness he was known…”

And you Gerty, my friend, will have a grave that I suspect will smell of urine for many years.

  15. I used to use a computer with an Intel chip, but Dad told me to stop because it comes from the Tekn… the Techne… a big laboratory in Israel.

Oh yeah, it’s that fantastic argument again: Israel produces great products ergo Israel must be a great country. Daniel will like that one, anything by association goes as far as he’s concerned…

    • No, Gert, your daughter’s onto something. No-one said producing great/essential products exculpates a country from any of its wrong state policies (although, it would sort of suggest it is as a vital a partner in the world wide family of countries in which any one country may not have a pristine record).

You, however, like the human dreck at BRICUP (who use Israeli-led Internet design on their website) make full use of the likes of Intel or mobile ‘phone technology whilst decrying another country as uniquely base. Unfortunately for you some of us remember your dismissal of the Sri Lankan crack-down against Tamil areas.

Your native country’s ruling classes were pretty much single-handedly responsible for bringing about modern international convention with their barbarism in the Congo basin. Association with Franafrique has had a less-than-glorious record with support for the genocidaires in Rwanda.

You now are living the high life in another country which was intimately involved in the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, and not spending your every waking hour dehumanizing their populations.

  16. Daniel Marks

    Gert,

Please leave me out of you and your daughter’s petty domestic squabbles.

  17. Daniel
did you realize that Gert has acknowledged that his daughter is his daughter?

Also what about smelly feet, do they stop smelling once they are interred? I can’t imagine worms liking them.

  19. Gert – a man who believes that Judea and Samaria weren’t occupied by Jordan between 1948-67, doesn’t believe any Jews were ethnically cleansed from that area at that time, and who says he accepts Israel but then uses the phrase “Zionist Entity.”

    You’re a joke.

  20. I now await the “falt earther” or some other similar name calling – that’s if he doesn’t resort to foul language – as he does when cornered.

  21. Gert – Israel IS a great country.

  22. I am on holiday for a week, and thus declare a bilateral ceasefire and cessation of hostilities towards the Gert, his fair daughter, the lovely Franne and the monstrous Gamil.

If any of the aforementioned breach this truce by mentioning my name or attacking my friends, I shall reserve the right to respond at a time, and in a way that I deem convenient.

All Germanic speakers are invited to follow the excellent link.

  23. Alec:

The International Solidarity Movement, Silke. Headed by an American Jew called Adam Shapiro who’s declared he’d use his Jewishness as a tool to destroy Israel.

Typical hyperborean hyperbole. The ISM’s goal is not to ‘destroy Israel’. Try and control your urges. Do you believe chaperoning Gazan farmers to their place of work (and getting shot at by the AOF for their trouble) constitutes seeking the destruction of Israel?

Unfortunately for you some of us remember your dismissal of the Sri Lankan crack-down against Tamil areas.

Except you remembered it badly and are misrepresenting it here again. See previous post. Shame on you.

Your native country’s ruling classes were pretty much single-handedly responsible for bringing about modern international convention with their barbarism in the Congo basin.

And this is relevant, how? But if I told you that the Congolese genocide under Leopold I was indeed a holocaust you’d probably tell me I’d be diminishing the Holocaust…

You now are living the high life [...]

You know nothing about me, nada, zilch. Make sure the family brain cell doesn’t overheat from all that fantasising.

    • Typical hyperborean hyperbole. The ISM’s goal is not to ‘destroy Israel’.

The ISM pushes for the One-State Solution and was party to the gang-rape of OneVoice which pushes for the Two-State Solution. In other words, they support the destruction of Israel as a state; and oppose those who support the creation of a viable Palestinian Arab state which involves the persistence of Israel as a state.

Except you remembered it badly and are misrepresenting it here again.

What was it you said? “A lot of people on the Left don’t support the Tamils. I don’t”, and then whittered on about the LTTE hiding behind civilians. Given that this was in the context of why there weren’t mass protests in support of Tamil civilians by the same people who openly support Hezbollah, it’s sure as hell how it looked.

      And this is relevant, how?

No more relevant that you’re bringing up events in Israel from 60 years ago.

But if I told you that the Congolese genocide under Leopold I [...]

I note you don’t refer to the more recent genocide under the Interahamwe. Hmmm.

[...] was indeed a holocaust you’d probably tell me I’d be diminishing the Holocaust…

Who mentioned Jews? Why does it all have to be about Jews? I hope you’re not about to suggest that HMD disregards other genocides.

You know nothing about me, nada, zilch. Make sure the family brain cell doesn’t overheat from all that fantasising.

My word, you are getting rattled, Mr. Meyer. Everything I ‘reveal’ about you has already been admitted to by yourself on the Internet.

I personally don’t give a hoot that you’re Flemish and now living in Yorkshire. I don’t associate individuals with the misdeeds (real or imagined) of their countries.

You, on the other hand, spend your every waking Internet moment campaigning against Israel and calling for her ostracism. If you were a slither of a man, you’d know that the same could apply to your home and host countries.

But, you don’t. So, either you believe Belgium and Britain’s history and current foreign policies are less worthy of condemnation than Israel’s, or you believe residents in those countries should not be held accountable.

      Which is it?

  24. Regards Sri Lanka, this is now the second time you’re lying about what I said. Either show up with the precise quote or shut up.

    • So, tell us why you weren’t out on the street or blogging-like-crazy when the Sri Lankan military were killing more civilians in a three month period than Israel has since 1948.

  25. Adam:

[...] and who says he accepts Israel but then uses the phrase “Zionist Entity.”

Try a bit of a sense of humour.

Are you still maintaining that the Occupation of the West Bank is not an Occupation? On what grounds?

    • Because there was no high negotiating power on the grounds of the Arab League refusing to accept the formation of the Arab State in 1947.

The West Bank is *administered*. The only things occupied are the cucumbers.

  26. Alec

Gertie’s claim that you know nothing about him is another proof of his troubled relations with reality.
Either what he said in this interview is true or he lied to the Pakistanis

    http://www.pakspectator.com/interview-with-blogger-gert-meyers/

My summary from memory is: in March 2008 he was 47, had a daughter, was married, and “between jobs”. Contrary to how I read the piece initially he has insisted on another thread that he is NOT thinking about monetizing his blog.

Inspite of ample prodding he has not come up with any info as to the way he currently finances his whatevers. So I assume he lives off either the riches he has accumulated during both the times when he was a Director of I forgot what, but it should be somewhere in the pakspectator-piece or his wife is of the generous loving kind or he is on the dole – of course any combination of the 3 may also be possible. Last but not least he may have inherited a chunk or won a lottery. Rather mysterious he is, isn’t he?

There is however another solid fact known about him as he has told us elsewhere he has smelly feet but has hitherto strictly avoided commenting on whether the usually connected affliction of halitosis is his also.

From my experience, Alec, I’d say don’t believe Gert claiming he has been misquoted. To me it seems that’s his “device” to deny whatever suits his fancy.

BTW the piece Daniel linked to above is taken from this website: http://ruth33.wordpress.com/2010/07/22/one-mean-jewish-settler/

Do you know whether anybody as yet has found anything Gert has to say exciting enough to take the trouble to translate it? maybe in Belgium?

  27. Gert implies that he has a sense of humour

is grandiosity complex (Größenwahnsinn) an English word?

  28. GertieBaby

Regards Sri Lanka, this is now the second time you’re lying about what I said. Either show up with the precise quote or shut up.

who cares for your exact quotes, when this is supposed to prove that you are not and have not been thinking about monetizing your blog – of course since you are Gert it is not OK to assume each time you are stepping up your “blogging” you think about monetizing, oh no, while on the other hand you prove inured to such niceties when it comes to bashing Israel.

Now I’m in a transition period and may have to decide to either step up blogging efforts (and attempt monetisation) or take a little more distance from the activity.

In short you are so “volatile” that I believe what any decent person says about you until YOU have proven them wrong, especially when it is something that fits your overall self-portrait.

  29. Adam:

Gert – Israel IS a great country.

Assume that this is 100 % correct. What does it prove/disprove with regards to Israel’s crimes and misdemeanours? Nothing, in fact it’s totally neither here nor there.

Can you name a few other ‘great countries’ that have committed crimes, past and present? And isn’t that the whole basis of your argument? That ‘they do it to (and often worse)’?

O/T: give it another hour and I can see Silkworm turning this thread into a personal kaffeeklatsch. She has previouses in that field.

    • Can you name a few other ‘great countries’ that have committed crimes, past and present?

      Your home and host countries.

And isn’t that the whole basis of your argument? That ‘they do it to (and often worse)’?

The only person here excusing named countries’ misdeeds (or excusing lack of interest by individuals) is you. You exist to humiliate and ridicule and deny a voice to Israelis, and *now* are effectively admitting there may be worse human rights offenders but that you’ll continue with the anti-Israel mission.

It’s not the actual abuse you’re concerned with: it’s that it’s being done by Israelis. Which is pretty much what we accuse you of.

  30. GertieBaby

I am not as slow as you may wish, I did what you yearn so ardently for long ago, albeit I am awaiting moderation again
    - could it be that having two links in one comment gets one into moderation? You are the geek? Is that it?
Of course I have used no foul words which, if I remember correctly, are one of your specialties (and no I won’t prove it by linking, you know where it is, so feel free to inform the public).

As to Kaffeeklatsch, that’s a Belgian speciality also, isn’t it?
I am however more the pub, beer and sausage type person, it’s better on the teeth than all that sweet fat and once teeths start to rot they are likely to smell, aren’t they?

  31. - could it be that having two links in one comment gets one into moderation? You are the geek? Is that it?

Yes, correct, two links trigger a spam alert (that should tell you something). Why bother linking when in all likelihood only your new pen pal will click?

Of course I have used no foul words which, [...]

It’s perfectly possible to behave totally obnoxiously without using ‘foul’ words, as you have amply demonstrated over at HB. Your comment spamming was completely beyond the pale there and would not be tolerated at many blogs or even actual fora. Free speech has limits and most blogs and discussion groups require at least a semblance of staying on topic. Yet ALL your ‘commentary’ here is completely ad hominem, practically without exceptions. Anyone would suspect attention deficit syndrome or simply far too much time on your hands…

And now I’ll leave you to your inane cackling, I’ve work to do. Todeloo!

  32. Alec:

The ISM pushes for the One-State Solution and was party to the gang-rape of OneVoice which pushes for the Two-State Solution.

So not the destruction then. How they always back pedal. ‘gang-rape’: you just can’t help yourself, can you?

it’s sure as hell how it looked.

With you it’s all ducks and quacking.

I personally don’t give a hoot that you’re Flemish and now living in Yorkshire. I don’t associate individuals with the misdeeds (real or imagined) of their countries.

Oh, but you do, Leccie, you do. At least that’s how it looks from here ;-)

I loved your fils a papa connotations re BRICUP higher up. A bit of a fackin’ working class gal, are you? Twit…

You, on the other hand, spend your every waking Internet moment campaigning against Israel and calling for her ostracism.

Baloney. Currently I spend no more time campaigning than you. Birdie told me you’re now active even at the cesspit called CiFWatch as ‘Gert’s Daughter’…

But, you don’t. So, either you believe Belgium and Britain’s history and current foreign policies are less worthy of condemnation than Israel’s, or you believe residents in those countries should not be held accountable.

Alec, I surrender. We MUST leave all these Imperialists to go about their businesses, after all criticising one in fairness needs criticism of all of them and that’s just not workable, now is it?

From Circus Israel on ‘singling out’ Israel:

YORAM N. (IDF Lieutenant and DJ): “Which singling out do you mean, bro? Where Obama has to give us more military aid than anybody else?”

DOV L. (rabbi & mohel) “Blood libel!”

SHIMON P. (President of Israel): “It’s time to begin proximity negotiations to quantify the number and characteristics of other nations that must be discussed when criticizing Israel. But first there must be confidence building measures, such as the purchase of Israeli products and an airstrike on Iranian nuclear sites.”

AVIGDOR L. (Israeli Foreign Minister): “As a boy, I was often singled out for hitting other children with a lead pipe, so I know how that feels. It’s a real slap in the face to your self-esteem.”

    • So not the destruction then. How they always back pedal.

Um, yes it would be. In this country we have enough history of what happens when two warring, traumatized groups are flung together (cf. Northern Ireland).

Even before the establishment of Israel, the lot of Jewish minorities in the region was a unenviable one. But, what would be a few pogroms to bring peace?

With you it’s all ducks and quacking.

So, tell us where you were when Sri Lankan military was shelling refugee columns.

Oh, but you do, Leccie, you do. At least that’s how it looks from here

No, it’s your lack of self-awareness and incipient paranoia which sees parodies of your anti-Israel postings as an assault on your Flemishness. Why is that? D’you think others think the same about the Flemish as you do about Israelis?

Alec, I surrender. We MUST leave all these Imperialists to go about their businesses, after all criticising one in fairness needs criticism of all of them and that’s just not workable, now is it?

Again, this is your projecting your own low standards onto others. I made no such claim. You, on the other hand, are less fussed when it’s not Israelis doing it (and when you benefit from life in the offenders’ countries).

    • Birdie told me you’re now active even at the cesspit called CiFWatch as ‘Gert’s Daughter’…

Dad, you have two daughters! That must be my sister. I haven’t seen her since she left home.

      I wish I could.

      I want Mum!

      • Gert’s Daughter
don’t despair, you are not alone, there’s lots of people out there feeling for you, you may have lost sister and mummy but other kids like to play with you. So rest assured that you have not inherited that from your father.

What happened to the clothes of your sister and your mum? did they take any or did Gert keep them in order to pursue his lonely or not so lonely pleasures.

  33. Wow – this is news

    Gert has work to do!!!
anybody knows whether he’ll be paid for it?
I understand the British coffers are not in good shape and anybody getting off the dole will be no doubt welcome.

Maybe Gert has applied for the job offers Daniel showed him.

    Gert
what YOU call on topic is one topic only i.e. Israel maligning, slandering

and thanks for the compliment that I have enough between my ears that I don’t need to resort to foul language – and before blaming it all on me, even though I tried my very best to get banned by fraudster Ibrahim i.e. your HB, even acquiring a google-moniker which then got stolen by a geeky one. If Ibrahim chose not to do it, it isn’t up to you to judge him on it, it is his blog after all and if he choses to ignore your advice on how to develop his web-presence that is again his decision. And please note, I am on topic now, YOU opened that can of worms.

and as to getting personal – it gets me into contact with people who like to play with me, very contrary to the people you suck up to, except of course maybe Greg Potemkin who seems to pay a visit to your blog once in a while, all the rest, even those of your disturbed mind-set, seem not at all eager to converse with you.

As to pen pals I urgently beg you not to tell the fraudster Ibrahim alias HB that I refused him as a pen-pal while I’m honoured to get into pen-palship with others.

  34. Alec
whenever you engage Gert “on topic” he’ll jump on the chance of smearing his smelly stuff all over the place. However, on this thread much to your credit you have at least made him sound more incoherent than I remember having read him before.

Maybe the itch to show himself off as really really superiorly geeky when it comes to formatting comments made him forget all prior plans.

… and come to think of it – didn’t he say some minutes ago that he had work to do? I’m afraid with a work ethic like that he will not be able to hold on to that job, Daniel helped him getting, for any period of time.

What a pity Daniel is on vacation and thus can’t give him a hand in finding another one!

  35. Um, yes it would be. In this country we have enough history of what happens when two warring, traumatized groups are flung together (cf. Northern Ireland).</blockquote.

Funny that. This is precisely the argument used against two states and in favour of transfer of the 'Arabs' to 'Arabia'. By these lovely Zionists that can do no wrong in your book.

So, tell us where you were when Sri Lankan military was shelling refugee columns.

Like you, probably in bed. If I missed you storming to their defense I apologise for missing all the action.

D’you think others think the same about the Flemish as you do about Israelis?

Dunno and don’t care. I just hope that you’re not a representative sample of Cardiff.

    I made no such claim.

No, you childishly imitate people, claim they’re Nazis and worse because they criticise Israel. What kind of criticism is allowed, do you think? Criticising WB settlers for not washing their flags often enough? Some of these do look decidedly ragged and dusty, you know… Blaming Israel for being rather slow ethnic cleansers?

Gabriel Ash rather summed up your whole argument:

When you’re done, there will always be dead-enders insisting that abuse of gays in Iran does not justify ethnic cleansing in Palestine. Take a deep breath, and pull the doomsday weapon: You suck!

You’re a Jew-hater, Arab-lover, anti-Semite, you’re a pinko, a commie, a dreamer, a naive, a self-hater, you have issues, your mother worked for the Nazis, Prince Bandar buys you cookies, you forgot you were responsible for the holocaust, etc. The more the merrier. By the time you end this barrage, only a handful would be left standing. For mopping them up, you use the ultimate postmodern wisdom: Everything sucks.

War, genocide, racism, oppression are everywhere. From the Roma in Italy to the Native-Americans in the U.S., the weak are victimized. Why pick on Israel? It’s the way of the world. Look! Right is only in question between equals in power; the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must. Ethics, schmethics. Life is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Eat, drink! Carpe diem! The Palestinians would throw us into the sea if they could. Ha ha!

  36. Alec

    The West Bank is *administered*.

Tell it to the Palestinians. G-d, you’re dense.

  37. And the settlements are *leased*…

  38. Any euphemisms for ‘house demolitions’ you might have handy?

  39. it must be Gert’s day for heavy imbibement

he is by now so much into showing off his geeky formatting skills that his posts become incomprehensible. Let’s hope that his adored Gabriel Ash doesn’t find out that his precious nonsense has been presented in such a sloppy way. No wonder Gert doesn’t find friends around here. But is he really so thick that he doesn’t realize he is trying to punch way beyond his intellectual abilities around here.

Already his inability to come up with a poem last time around should have proved that to him.

But as the above comment proves, I am right if I say beware anybody whom Gert honours with his cut and paste “skills”

Surprise surprise Gabriel Ash is his adored Jews sans Frontières, if that title doesn’t suggest the Elders-nonsense – but given how much Gert yearns for the return of the fraudster Ibrahim, maybe he is just addicted to fraudstering and that’s why he can’t bare Israel’s straightforward PR.

    Talking about successful PR:
The piece Daniel linked to above is taken from this website: http://ruth33.wordpress.com/2010/07/22/one-mean-jewish-settler/

Do you know whether anybody as yet has found anything Gert has had to say exciting enough to take the trouble to translate it? maybe into Belgium, Flemish or French who cares?

  40. Gert’s Daughter

urgent – you must call for help – your Daddy is suffering from a severe bout of logorrhea again probably triggered a the renewed realisation of his friendliness

as you know he likes strutting via exposing his appalling ignorance via pomposfying arguments all over the place and nobody around here gives him the kind of “serious” conversation which he enjoyed so very much once upon a time over at the fraudster’s place

  41. Alec
this is from 12:21 and is still under moderation, but as I have learned in the meantime from super-geek Gert (who alas doesn’t tell me or doesn’t know how somebody could steal my google moniker) that moderation was only imposed because there were 2 links in the story I post the first part which was directed at you here again:

  42. I’m in Bulgaria with settler family, having a fine old time.

Bourgas seems be thoroughly occupied, and to have a much higher percentage of Israelis than either Judea or Samaria. We are going South tomorrow to get away from the Jews. I’m beginning to understand how Gert feels.

Employment-wise, if anything comes up Gert, I’ll tell you. If you have an updated CV to mail me, that would be great.

  43. Daniel
that’s terrible news, once upon a time any Bulgarian beach used to be firmly in teutonic hands – I guess it was one of the few occasions some could meet their relatives on the sly.

and now the Jews have taken over – that is terrible – did you know that Gert is a great admirer of Jews sans Frontières
    - I wonder what Kouchner the original sans Frontières thinks of the site.

is Bridlington also being taken over? Is that why Gert is so upset? and makes his daughter suffer so terribly as a consequence – in case you didn’t notice both her sister and her mother have or are removed unknown.

  44. I am proud and glad to report, that Gert has been so invigorated by his recent experience on this blog (and possibly he absence of his wife and 2nd daughter) that he has cut and pasted a whole especially idiotic Guardian piece with barely a thought by himself added.

It is a tough life, if one is wanted by no one and the area between the ears is supplying nothing.

Or maybe it was Daniel’s offer to help him with finding a new job once again that caused this flame-up of energy – little Gertie wanted to show that he could do it alone

a whole article with no comments by Gertie in between posted with just a 2 liner on top that sure takes cojones

    http://www.slate.com/id/2262667/

  45. Gert – I’m glad you can joke about phrases like “Zionist Entity” – it’s hard to laugh when the Jews are fighting for survival. But glad to know such a phrase is just a joke, and that you’re behind Israel being the Jewish state all the way – aren’t you?

Why don’t you think the Jordanians occupied and ethnically cleansed Judea and Samaria of Jews between 1948-67?

    I asked first.

  46. Adam:

Gert – I’m glad you can joke about phrases like “Zionist Entity” – it’s hard to laugh when the Jews are fighting for survival. But glad to know such a phrase is just a joke, and that you’re behind Israel being the Jewish state all the way – aren’t you?

Why don’t you think the Jordanians occupied and ethnically cleansed Judea and Samaria of Jews between 1948-67?

    Would you prefer ‘Zionist Thingy’?

The Jews are fighting for survival, yeah, tell me another one (methinks you just like the David/Goliath myth just a bit too much). Firstly 2/3 of Jews don’t actually live in the Jewish State, and their survival isn’t at stake at all. In Western countries antisemitism is very much under control despite constant protestations from those who cui bono from the myth of contemporary antisemitism.

Secondly, Israel as a kind of ‘Sparta in the ME’ militarily speaking is very secure. The dreaded A-rab states are completely resigned to Israel’s existence for various reasons. One is Israel’s virtual unassailability, two the military weakness of most Arab states, three the carrot/stick approach offered by the ‘Big Satan’.

And what little threat Israel does actually face would dwindle to near infinitesimally small if the conflict with the Palestinians was resolved.

Re the Occupation, you just don’t learn, do you? Assume FOR ARGUMENT’S SAKE, that you’re right about the Jordanian occupation, in what way, logically or otherwise speaking, does this mean the current military presence of Israel in the WB and the former in Gaza DOES NOT constitute a military occupation?

  47. Gert’s Daughter

things are getting urgent, Daddy is claiming to think logically again – I think there is no time left to drive him to the emergency room, call the guys in white to wherever he is immediately.

very sorry to distress you in this way
to calm you down after the ordeal has passed I recommend you reading this eminently rational and comprehensible conversation of two guys who’d apparently would never use the word logic in a weird context

    http://pajamasmedia.com/michaeltotten/2010/08/04/the-greatest-collection-of-nightmares-on-earth/

    Adam
I think Gert is taking advantage of Daniel’s partial absence to lure you into playing with him
    - he is desperate for a playmate, he’d be willing to do anything for a playmate except say one decent or true word about any living “pro-Zio”, Jew or otherwise.

    - beware, there is a lot of filthy disgusting evil smelling shrill dirt he’ll be glad to throw at you/us/the world/the net, given the slightest pretext to do so

  48. Gert,

I have been away for a short time and have been unable to sing your praises, extol your virtues and recite my heartfelt poetry.

My wife does not even yet know, so it is uncanny that you should be the very first person to whom I now bear these sad tidings.

Cousin Yehuda called today to inform me that Auntie Aviva passed away while I was in Prague.

Almost all of Aviva’s family had been wiped out in the Holocaust. In of all unlikely places, Aviva met her future husband Motke while she was incarcerated in Auschwitz. Motka lost every single member of his family.

After they were liberated, their emaciated bodies made their way to Palestine. They married, raised a family, and were two of the most decent and honorable people I have ever had the good fortune to know.

Aviva and Motka were what Gert contemptuously calls “Zios”

Gert, I spit in your face.

    • NONAZIBOYCOTTS

      Nick, welcome back.

I feel it would be rather self-indulgent to go into the long list of emotions stirred within me when I read your comment so I’ll spare you and others.
Let me just say though I am very sorry for yours and this worlds loss with the passing of your Auntie Aviva.

Thank you also for the powerful perspective at the end of your comment which made me feel quite sick. I also would suggest you consider not wasting your saliva on monstrous entities.
      Shabbat shalom.

  49. Nick
    so glad you are back

  50. Silke, thanks for the warning, and I am wary of giving him/it the opportunity to spout his/its hatred. But I simply enjoy annoying Israel haters – it gives me great pleasure to wind them up. I think Nick’s post puts it perfectly.

  51. Gert, from whom is it occupied? (have we stopped using the capital “O”)? The ethnic cleansing Jordanians?

By the way, I’m glad you also speak for the Jews of the world and how they perceive their situation. That’s fine, as long as you accept that I speak for all Flemish people of the world.

  52. Nick, I think your post has shut Gert up forever – if it hasn’t, it should do.

  53. Adam
That’s fine, as long as you accept that I speak for all Flemish people of the world.
this argument is made at length and at levels of understanding, which are way beyond Gert’s or his possibly even more disgusting buddies grasp, in another one of the satisfyingly long interviews Michael Totten does once in a while.
Nick may have shut up Gert for this thread but he’ll be back – at the latest with the next Ahava post – playmates who tolerate him are so few that even getting beaten up real bad feels preferable to him.

  54. Adam:

I surrender. From now on, I consider the IDF and settlements as part of a benign ‘guest worker program’. Silly world for getting that so wrong!

  55. Adam

    I admit defeat ;-))

    - I imagined Gert would have enough shame/decency/manners left to stay away from this thread after Nick’s apt last sentence – but no he couldn’t, just as much as he can’t help to cut and paste whole articles proving again and again that he is only capable of mumbling incoherent stuff around here but not capable of coming up with a single post of his own.

Daniel got it right, when all is said and done, he is the kid nobody wants to play with and who is therefore forced to hang out at a place where he is as universally despised and ridiculed as he is around here

getting spit at is preferred by him to not being noticed at all – no wonder he mourns the silence of Ibrahim the fraudster so much

  56. Silke, I think you have summed up Gert’s character well. He appears to crave attention – any attention. The fact that he isn’t shamed by Nick’s excellent post (which is a cry from the heart), and the fact that he doesn’t actually answer the question posed to him (“occupied from whom?” – we get a smarmy but substanceless reply) demonstrates this. Thank you for the link by the way, a very good read. I didn’t know this author before.

  57. Adam:

The fact that he isn’t shamed by Nick’s excellent post (which is a cry from the heart), [...]

Try a little honesty for once, instead of all this sanctimonious Holier than Thou stuff.

Nick’s aunt’s death is a personal tragedy but not one that I’m in any way, shape of form responsible for. His ‘spitting in my face’ would make any condolences offered deeply embarrassing. And had such condolences actually been offered you’d have found it an excellent opportunity to try and bash me again.

It’s pretty obvious you’re trying to chase me away from this site, you’ve said so in slightly different words. Well sonny, that’s not going to happen: the only person that can make me go is Richard Millett. I suggest you try your luck by personally emailing him (his address is on this site).

As regards the Occupation, it’s really you and a mere handful of nincompoops that doesn’t recognise there’s such a thing: even Israel’s greatest and most unwavering ally, the US, recognises that. If you want to go around looking like the village idiot, that’s really up to you.

  58. Adam

please don’t make Gert go away, reading stupidity in action gives me delightful delusions of superiority.

Lawyers all over the world are at each other about all kinds of occupations yesses or nos but our “between jobs” Director GertieBaby has figured it all out and gives the verdict. That makes all specialists in int’l law look really stupid, doesn’t it? Why oh why don’t they listen to Gert? If they only would the world would be so gorgeous.

    Gert

Daring Richard to ban you, you really think like a baby – are you aiming to copy what I did at Fraudster Ibrahim’s?

You just forget that Richard is free to do about you whatever he sees fit. You are so stupid that you don’t even realise that your dare to Richard is in no way comparable to mine to Ibrahim. You should really stop imbibing and start some clear thinking or you’ll be never again free from megalomania

or maybe you dream of getting banned so people from here might want to visit you your non-developing copy and paste skills? Some people I know frown upon it because it steals ad-revenues – but who are you to care about other people’s revenues that would be mercenary thinking n’est-ce pas?

oh and your condolences to Nick would have been highly inappropriate because of all the heinous stuff you had written BEFORE Nick spit at you.

you really are thick, at which age did they kick you out of school?

  59. Gert, I wouldn’t dream of trying to make you go away – I have much more fun humiliating you – correction, you do that yourself.

Perhpas one would expect you to think twice before throwing such insulting phrases around, (as detailed by Nick, where you casually, from the comfort of Bridlington and your computer, condemn people who have literally lived through a living hell on earth and had nowhere else to go after seeing their families wiped out in genocide) – but no, no apology from you.

Still you don’t answer the question – from WHOM is it occpupied Gert?

  60. Adam

Gert never answers a question except when it concerns net-geeky stuff – I remember on I think the last Ahava thread he made a statement, I think it was about “other countries” – was asked to specify again and again and never answered it.

Gert is “brilliant” at throwing cut and pasted stuff around but never capable of substantiating anything that is a product of his own “powers” of thinking. Maybe I should start to think about feeling sorry for him. Where other people have synapses he must have mushy messes and I can’t imagine that that feels tolerable let alone good. Probably he isn’t even capable of getting a real headache every now and then, not enough mass there to come up with a pain.

I doubt he is even capable of doing some serious googling and nobody wants to play with him judging from the frequency his ugly buddies from fake Ibrahim’s blog show up at his place even the dirties don’t find him interesting.

btw here are my latest news – GertieBaby will of course read about it at Mondoweiss – maybe I should check how he does in the comment section there … if he does that is

On The Death of Tony Judt

    http://blog.z-word.com/2010/08/on-the-death-of-tony-judt/

  61. Adam:

Perhpas one would expect you to think twice before throwing such insulting phrases around, (as detailed by Nick, where you casually, from the comfort of Bridlington and your computer, condemn people who have literally lived through a living hell on earth and had nowhere else to go after seeing their families wiped out in genocide)

How reductionist can one get? Neither Nick nor Daniel ‘lived through a living hell on earth’. Daniel for one chose to live in Israel from the age of 18 for religious reasons.

Many Holocaust survivors chose bravely to reclaim their position in the societies from whence they had been deported and had no interest in moving to Palestine. Much of the current European Diaspora are descendants of people who chose that option. Others wanted to emigrate to the US (and other places), yet some of these, through Zionist shenanigans, ended up being deported to Palestine to build the West’s latest outpost in the ME, Israel. Others had enthusiastically chosen to emigrate to Palestine well before the Holocaust was even on the cards. It’s a mixed bag, in other words…

You really are a Quixotic figure, fighting your imaginary windmills… Your ally Sancho Silke really compliments your cause.

  62. Adam
do you think it might overtax Gert’s brain if we’d ask him which version of Sancho he honours me with?

Not that it does make any difference because he just doesn’t get what playmates do once they’ve found a suitable ball . Having never had the experience himself he is at a terrible loss. I wonder whether he is crying? do you think he is capable of such feelings?

(Gert, the ball which right now is being tested whether it’s suitable for Adam and me playing together with, is you – it might turn out we prefer to insult you each on our own but that does not mean that on another occasion we might not greatly enjoy acting as playmates – you see how easy it is to find playmates? why does it never happen to you? If you look in the mirror you’ll see the answer)

I won’t comment on his callous ignorant crude and heinous remarks about Holocaust victims and their decendants.
    but
I wonder where he found the word reductionist and whether he knows how to use it correctly? In German we talk about “reduzieren” when we want to impersonate haute cuisine chefs, normals just call it “einkochen” (cook in). Could it be that in chemistry a similar process exists and that Gert because he has a vague inkling how that works thinks he can impress you by throwing it around. Maybe he thinks it makes him sound more directorial than his “in between jobs” status justifies.

  63. That link to Tony Judt is priceless. I don’t know who this Eamon McDonagh is (I don’t read Z-word) but his piece’s got two straw men just in the first paragraph. Then he links to two of his own posts to try and prove his point. Pitiful…

  64. Adam

Gert really gives me the long-lasting chuckles

First he wants us to believe that he can apply that concept he linked to correctly – based on his writings who is going to buy that claim?

but even better is his comment on Eamonn McDonagh, because he has no own posts to link to spare his readers repititions without excluding newcomers he sneers at McDonagh thereby missing the point why I chose that link i.e. that McDonagh has his own blog, that somebody offers translations on that blog, so I guess he has connections to the linguist trade (linguist is what Fake Ibrahim likes to call himself) and that outfit seems to be in Argentina.

Of course all that may be coincidence and all of fake Ibrahim’s mishap may really be connected to his daughter’s birthday – who knows, who cares, but tickling Gert into helpless fury is always worth an effort.

  65. great news

    Gert is teachable
    -
he has taken my advice and not just copied a whole piece but only large snippets and inserted his own comments in between them
    -
however after reading his first sentence of the introduction I went what who how so??? so I checked and I was right but what do you expect of a guy who claims he can use long words in a meaningful context but can’t do the most simple googling thus deluding himself into there being just one Goldberg
    -
ooops I forgot probably Gert is so smart he is trying to imply that he has sleuthed it into the open that the one Goldberg and the other Goldberg are the same Goldberg and as is the habit of vily people who are suspicious because their name is Goldberg the single or double Goldberg is trying to confuse the public about it.

Gert is a genius – I wonder why A’jad who has come up with lots of remarkable idiocies recently hasn’t hired him yet as his Director of PR.

  66. There may well be 10,000 Goldbergs around the world, maybe even more. In the rather small world of I/P blogging only one Jeffrey Goldberg (from the Forward) is known as, erm… Jeffrey Goldberg. Bloody rocket science!

  67. Gert

thank you! – next round my playmates will love to hear about it:
I repeat only one Jeffrey Goldberg is known to YOU

and you dare to strut around here claiming you know anything, anything at all, if just one Goldberg is known to you as to write on your favourite subject.

well – no wonder you find nobody to play with you.

advice from me – try google on J.J. Goldberg – gosh, not even one of those two Js refers to a Jeffrey

you are not only thick you are ignorant also, too ignorant to know that one doesn’t use long words unless one has understood a concept really well at least one does not if one doesn’t want to become an object of ridicule in polite company.

  68. Silke, classic – thanks for the laughs! Who is this Ibrahim – I’m sorry, I’m not getting all the references!

Gert, your first reply to me shows 1. you didn’t understand Nick’s comment 2. you didn’t understand mine.

Nick objected to you contemptuously calling his relatives (and, I guess, by extention, every other Holocaust survivor in Israel – and there are a few Gert) – “Zios.”

Your historically illiterate views of European Jewry would be laughable if they weren’t so tragically mistaken. Gert – there were virtually no Jews left in the countries occupied by the Nazis. If you look at Europe today, France has the largest Jewish population – overwhelmingly from the Maghreb – they are Sephardi for the most part, and came after the war. Next, we have the UK – which wasn’t occupied. After that, Germany – most of whose Jews have come in the last 20 years from the former Soviet Union. Elsehwhere, there are tiny populations dotted around. The few who survived in Poland had nowhere else to go other than Israel (they faced pogroms by fellow Poles after the war) and would you have German Jews stay in Germany just after the war? In short, where should the remnants of European Jewry have gone, in order to please you?

You are on very thin ice – and you put yourself there through stupid, insensitive and igorant comments.

Can I have an answer to my question – from whom is it occupied?

  69. Adam

As to “Ibrahim” – he is the invention of an Argentinian guy who “seduced” in that guise Yaacov Lozowick (whose blog I like very much) to start a mutual blog which is still available if you click on Yaacov’s profile. Pretty soon Ibrahim’s cover blew up and by now he is known as an Argentinian Jew by the name of Alberto José Miraya and linguist, math teacher, wood engineer and heaven knows what else by profession. (I’ve read one piece on language by him, that makes one pity the poor children who have to suffer such an ignorant idiot)

I find it hard to decide whom I detest more Alberto or Gert, Alberto is probably more important because he claimed his blog had gotten linked to “important” garbage heaps, while Gert in his latest post is so dumb that he doesn’t even know which writer he is fisking and even after I told him, he doesn’t correct it. No wonder he is “between jobs”.
Gert accuses me of having harmed Ibrahim’s blog because I concentrated too much on woeing Ibrahim instead of entering into “serious” discussions with him and his equally laughable buddies. If, however, that blog should really remain down for any length of time, that will greatly count in my favour once I’ll knock on heaven’s door. (I took Ibrahim to heart after he had said something incredibly callous about injured Israeli soldiers – if possible Gert is even more depraved)

There are many ironies about that fake Ibrahim – for example, somewhere he tells that he is the author of 3 books of short stories, which makes me ask of course how come that an author of short stories can’t come up with a sufficiently disguised character to prevent detection for just a wee bit longer?

Of course I’d love to tell why Ibrahim doesn’t ban me no matter how often I dared him and no matter how freely I “associated” my comments, but as Gert is really keen to know I have to keep the secret for a while longer.

  70. Adam:

Nick objected to you contemptuously calling his relatives (and, I guess, by extention, every other Holocaust survivor in Israel – and there are a few Gert) – “Zios.”

See Adam, this is how you try and win debates: not by arguing my points but by distorting my points and then arguing the distorted version. It’s called a straw man argument. I have never insulted Nick’s relatives, least of all the aunt that passed away recently. What you and Nick deploy is a clever but untruthful device whereby you claim I have contempt for all Zionists, the relative in question was a Zionist, ergo I have contempt for Nick’s relatives. It’s an invalid syllogism and shows just how deep you want to plunge to try and win an argument. My critique of Zionism has nothing to do with a woman I don’t know from here nor there.

Your reaction to what I say about Holocaust survivors is in the same category: your zeal in trying to win the argument makes you careless and determined to try and dispute any syllable I utter (and yet you claim I am the ‘hater’!) If I claimed it was a nice day in Bridlington yesterday, you’d probably try and deny it!

I personally know two families of Holocaust survivors who came back to Antwerp and reclaimed their property and place in society. Mrs Finkelstein and her husband, parents of Norman Finkelstein and Holocaust survivors did also not choose to go to Palestine but stayed on in Germany. There are many, many other examples.

There are also cases where people moved to Palestine for Holocaust reasons and later became fierce critics of what Israel is doing in the Occupied Territories, for example Uri Avnery. On the other hand Amos Oz’s mother couldn’t adjust to the new circumstances and committed suicide.

The Occupied Territories aren’t Occupied: they are ‘Administered’. The settlements are ‘Leased’. Repeat after me…

Your dishonesty is funny. You started out a few threads ago rambling on about how painful it must be for Israelis to have their country insulted all the time. Next it was the ‘singling out’ that was proof of my antisemitism. Now it turns out you’re trying to defend some of Zionism’s most banal yet hardest lines. You could have told me you were a rabid Zionist right from the start…

  71. Gert accuses me of having harmed Ibrahim’s blog because I concentrated too much on woeing Ibrahim instead of entering into “serious” discussions with him and his equally laughable buddies.

The latter part is a blatant lie. You admit time after time you try and get under people’s skins. You try and disrupt debate by interjecting huge amounts of personal attacks on those who want to contribute there (or here). Rarely have I seen a more blatant case of blog spamming and trolling and its quite amazing both HB and RM allow it.

Regards Ibrahim, he once stated (I paraphrase slightly from memory): ‘Do you think [the magician] David Copperfield is a character in a Dickens novel?’

I.o.w. ‘Ibrahim’ is a persona, not a person. It’s you who can’t distinguish between fact and fiction. Most bloggers assume a persona: with the exception of those who are genuine public figures, most others wear a mask. Your obsession with Ibrahim says far more about you than it does about him.

  72. Adam

See Adam, this is how you try and win debates: not by arguing my points but by distorting my points and then arguing the distorted version. It’s called a straw man argument.

Gert teaching you is the joke of the day until now – the “argument” he is making here is one of at most half a dozen that his ilk peddled over at Fake Ibrahim’s again and again. I think they have it from “Rules of Radicals” of which there are, if I remember correctly 13, so they don’t even manage to muster the full range.

i.e. whatever he comes up with, it is all tired ol’ copy and paste and hardly digested at all

    - btw have you ever noticed that an animal whose sh.t contains half-digested stuff stinks abominably,

Gert’s callous view of how survivors should lead their life makes me guess that there is a streak of the psychopathic in him. Dragging Amos Oz’ mother’s suicide into it the way he does is beyond any pale whatsoever.

oh and not to be too uncharitable I had an idea for Gert to finance his life-style independently.

All my PhD in chemistry colleagues claimed that they were excellent at baking cakes and another girl I knew managed to get into self-employment via baking cakes for birthday-parties etc. where people preferred the home-made stuff to bakery offerings – but how is Gert to hide his inablity to think original thoughts when going for that model, maybe asking his daughter for help might do the trick?

and can you believe it, Adam? that nutter still insists that J.J. Goldberg is Jeffrey Goldberg – If there were a competition for Mr. Ignorance he’d win any day – the more I get to know him, the more I think those cleaning jobs Daniel keeps finding for him are way beyond his mental capacities.

  73. Gert

I admit to lying when I said I tried to woe Fake Ibrahim, the truth is that I don’t care for guys who require both hands to create a satisfying outcome (pun intended).
    -
I haven’t decided yet whether I prefer right handers to left handers or those who limit themselves to the real action but am willing to discuss the subject with any practitioners who might have something new to reveal.
    -
and as to Fake Ibrahim’s “persona” – the betrayal he tried to pull on Yaacov is way beyond what’s acceptable and yes, I rejoice in the realisation how much he misjudged his own capacity for deceit – believe me, if I’d try my hand, I’d last a lot longer. If Fake Ibrahim had just blogged under that “persona” I would of course not object to it. But of course knowing your mental limites by now quite well I don’t expect you to see a difference which is obvious to every decent person on earth.
    -
also thank you for the compliment and the trouble you took in misrepresenting my contributions at Fake Ibrahim’s and please note that as soon as I had found my bearings amongst you bunch of yelping puppies I have never ever tried to hide what I am after …
    -
and as long as free speech is a virtue I feel free to comment on any topic the way it hits a nerve with me – that people seem to like me for it, should make you think twice, Gert, but alas you aren’t even capable of thinking once.

  74. – that people seem to like me for it

Lots of people like prostitutes. They operate a bit like you.

  75. thanks for the compliment Gert I feel honoured

I had the good luck to get to know some of the profession more or less well and I sincerely hope they liked me as much as I liked them.

BTW for a guy who delights so much in getting rejected again and again it is quite an ineffective insult – come on you can do better than that.

But come to think of it maybe getting insulted around here helps you with your “manuals”
people have been known to turn to weirder stuff, if they have problems in that department

  76. Regards Yaakov ‘poco loco’, Ibrahim’s defense here is more than adequate to me:

In a recent post on this blog, Yaacov told us that in certain fields of human knowledge, such as history, no laboratory experiments can be carried out to prove or disprove a theory. In such cases, second best is, according to Austrian philosopher Karl Popper,

to formulate your thesis, and then do your utmost to find facts that will disprove it; only when your repeated attempts to disprove your thesis fail, and you can find no facts that might weaken your position, only then can you begin to assume that perhaps you’re right – and perhaps not, since there still may be facts out there that will disprove you, only you haven’t found them yet.

For reasons that are themselves undisclosable, I can’t reveal my identity. I told this to Yaacov very clearly when he invited me to set up a joint blog. He accepted such terms; with reservations, admittedly, but he did accept them. To my surprise, however, after we had published our first few posts he wrote me to ask if I might be a certain specific person. As could be expected, I answered that since we had agreed that my identity would be secret, I wouldn’t discuss it.

From then on, events took a weird turn. Yaacov let me know that certain people had written him to ‘expose’ me as a non-Arab. He didn’t need to know my full name, but asked me to prove my Arabness. Of course, it’s very difficult to prove your ethnic origin without disclosing your name.

But, who were those mysterious informers who had denounced me? It’s not too difficult to imagine. In the last few months I’ve been active debating Zionists on their own blogs, in some cases dealing them humiliating defeats. While English-language Zionist bloggers seem to be more tolerant of dissension, Spanish-language ones are not imbued with a comparable openness, coming, as they mainly come, from Argentina, a country still in transition to a full democracy. The result has been that I’ve been blocked from participating in quite a few Zionist blogs in Spanish. In the face of that, I decided to switch languages and participate more actively in blogs in English. One of the Argentinian bloggers, not content with having expelled me, decided to try and hinder my contribution to English-language blogs as well.

And here is where Popper comes in — or, rather, does not. When that blogger contacted Yaacov to “expose” me, a student of Popper, as Yaacov likes to call himself, could have used a little skepticism. He could have looked for all evidence that might disprove what was being said about me, and even if he found none he should have given me the benefit of doubt, since “there might be facts out there” that had escaped his radar.

But not for nothing do they say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. For all his professed admiration for Popper, Yaacov didn’t even begin to do the homework prescribed by his idol. So I helped him a little and pointed to evidence on the web according to which it would be very illogical to think that I was the person I was claimed to be. Yaacov did not comment on this and was adamant that I should prove that I’m an Arab.

Finally, I decided to give in. I offered to provide him with the full disclosure of my name, as well as with documentation that was second-best to an ADN test to prove my ethnic origin, if only he would provide me with all the details of the exchanges with his informers.

Yaacov didn’t acquiesce even to this, and I decided to call it quits, as would have any reasonable and self-respecting person in my position.

As a final thought I’ll quote Eleanor Roosevelt: “Great people discuss ideas; average people discuss events; small people discuss other people.” By the way, I understand that gossiping is looked down upon in Judaism.

Simply put, Ibrahim wanted to preserve his privacy, other bloggers wanted to violate it. I believe I know which Argentinian blogger Ibrahim is referring to. And if you really want to conclude that Ibrahim has egg on his face, it’s clear that Yaakov has too. Yaakov and his friends’ mudslinging also cost Ibrahim a contributorship elsewhere. That’s what mud does for you: it sticks. As well you know: it’s your whole modus operandus.

  77. Gert
look what an exciting item has just popped up in my podcatcher – exactly what you need for your woes:

    http://www.sciencefriday.com/program/archives/201008062 Cooking for Geeks

you see how good my advice to you was – I am always in there with the latest.

    ——–

    as to Ibrahim’s Frauding/Betraying/Cheating Yaacov:
    -
I told you above that you wouldn’t recognize what’s so reprehensible about Fake Ibrahim’s behaviour because it is just beyond you and you have just proved my point by swallowing Fake Ibrahim’s not only lame but patently false explanation hook line and all. It really must hurt to be as dumb as you are.

BTW were you the guy who falsely claimed on Fake Ibrahim’s blog that Yaacov had once banned a woman and who once he’d been called on it, kept mum so loudly it might have busted one’s ear drums? or was it somebody else of your yelping buddy brigade?

BTW are you the guy who claims on his sorry blog that J.J. Goldberg is Jeffrey Goldberg?

And you want to make be believe you know who the blogger was who called attention to Fake Ibrahim’s lies about himself which went way way way beyond of what protecting his privacy demanded? How come you think it was a blogger, if your adored fraudster Ibrahim himself says it is due to something very private?

Gert the know nothing claims to know everything and thereby proves he knows nothing mostly due to the fact that the art of comprehending/putting into any kind of context whatever he reads eludes him completely.

  78. BTW were you the guy who falsely claimed on Fake Ibrahim’s blog that Yaacov had once banned a woman and who once he’d been called on it, kept mum so loudly it might have busted one’s ear drums?

I think you may be referring to Diane Mason from Lawrence of Cyberia. Yaacov has banned more than one person. That’s his right. And it’s mine to call him on it.

‘kept mum’? You mean as always you drowned out any peep from anyone with very loud noise and links that are supposed to be funny?

Like I said dearest, in my long experience of blogging you really turn out to take the biscuit for blog spamming. In a sense I thank you: I have now at least 5 threads to show the imbecilic and deliberately damaging blogging behaviour of a ‘Zionista’. Or should I say ‘woman married to Jewish man’, because really that seems to be the extent of your involvement in Zionism?

  79. How come you think it was a blogger, if your adored fraudster Ibrahim himself says it is due to something very private?

I’m fairly sure it was a blogger that knew Ibrahim personally. That would be related to a blogger and ‘something very private’ at once. Just possibly Ib may have let slip that he runs a blog (or comments on blogs) to the wrong person. Right wingers stop at nothing. Less so even in Argentina. See ‘Argentina’s Dirty War’…

  80. Gert
it must be more than a year now that I am day in day out on Yaacov’s blog, reading every comment and since then he has banned NOBODY
    - not even Fake Ibrahim !!! who until recently used to show up quite regularly – shameless man he is.
    - commenters there btw had no problem dealing with Fake Ibrahim all by themselves no matter how outrageous his behaviour
therefore if I were a betting person I’d put pretty high bets on your trying to spread yet another lie.

that intelligent commenters had no problem whatsoever reining in Fake Ibrahim should tell you something, shouldn’t it?

BTW just for the fun of it: What are you going to do with your 5 thread knowledge?
file a suit against me at The Hague?
maybe it is time for me to triumphalize about sapping your “Anti-Zio-Energy” ;-)

as to your style of fishing for private info
Or should I say ‘woman married to Jewish man’
it really is as clumsy as possible and that by a guy who still thinks J.J. is Jeffrey – really, do you think anybody will take any crumb of bread from you after that?
    - as to fishing for private info, glad to learn how important I have become to you that you wanna know more and more and more

  81. I’m fairly sure it was
from a guy who is dead wrong when he is not fairly but sure sure that is quite a statement, but well Gert is Gert
if Agatha Christie hadn’t been inspired by Belgians to invent Hercule Poirot I’d despair of the country, but wait, dear Hercule is French Belgian isn’t he?

  82. Gert, truly extraordinary. Your write as if the Jews who had survived in Europe should have done everything in their power to prevent themselves being drawn to the Jewish homeland, and stayed amongst those who had just tried to annihilate them.

You just don’t get it Gert – you don’t get that Israel doesn’t have to apologise for existing, you don’t get that Jews are naturally drawn to their homeland. You give norman Finklestein as an example – isn’t this the man who wrote “The Holocaust Industry” – a disgusting piece of dreck which deliberately set out to shock and offend? You say there are “many examples” – sure Gert, amazingly for you, not every Jew thinks and acts the same. Why would you think they would? Is it nice to pigeonhole them? The fact remains that a greater number did indeed leave. So are we to condemn them? Call them, with contempt, “Zios”? Grow up.

Now perhaps you will answer my question, with which you are patently struggling – from whom is it occupied? (why have you dropped the capital “O”)?

  83. NONAZIBOYCOTTS

Adam I don’t know you. I don’t know if your name is really Adam and I don’t really care. I know by what you say that you are not Jewish.

I do want to say to you though that I thank you with all my heart for not following the bleating herd and for defending Israel. Not only defending Her, but doing it so effectively. It’s a joy to read/see.

I know you say that you have fun doing this and you like to wind ******* like Gert up but I can see that is just a part of it and you actually really care as your knowledge has so much depth and is multi-layered.

I also do not know if you are an atheist (this is not a question posed to you) but I just want to say G-d bless you whoever you are. In my book, you are a good man and I take much comfort in the fact that we have friends out there like you.
    Thank you.
    That’s all.

  84. Gert shows his total lack of understanding of the Jewish soul and spirit. He knows nothing of our national DNA.

“Neither Nick nor Daniel ‘lived through a living hell on earth’. ”

I was born in 1961 like you Gert, but I have lived through it all. I lived through Mount Moria and I lived through Abraham forcing himself to be strong when G-d sent him to sacrifice his son. I saw his heartbreak, not only because he’d waited so long for that boy, but because his life’s work had been to teach the nations not to do such things.

I saw Jacob going down to Egypt confused and I saw his sons becoming slaves. I was there when we left Egypt and I gasped at the miracles.

I was there when we received the Torah and through the forty years of wondering. I built two temples and saw them both destroyed because of my sins.

I waited 2,000 years to return and was persecuted and humiliated by hundreds of thousands of Gerts, each time a new name and a new excuse. And even as we were discriminated against and through all the pogroms, we made contributions to civilization like no nation ever made.

I saw all my brothers screaming to their Maker as they were led to their deaths in Europe and I heard his terrible silence too. I asked an old man where he was going, as he marched into a gas chamber and he whispered to me that he was walking to Jerusalem. I asked him his name, and it was my name.

I was there when the United Nations voted to return my homeland to me too. I danced that night only to discover that the Arab nations of the world would declare war and try to throttle us to death before the State of Israel was even declared.

I saw wars and I saw terror, but I also saw a miracle. The rebirth of my people in their land. I saw dry bones grow loins and skin and I saw G-d breathe life into them.

I have lived through it all and I’ve survived it all too. And here I am, a victim no longer. I was there, Nick was there, we all were. I’m back home at last. Been there, done that, Never Again!

  85. Daniel

    thank you!

blessed are the children who are taught by you

  86. Thank you Silke, Adam, and NNB for your kind words of support, and thank you Daniel, or should I thank Bulgarian mushrooms, for including me on that spectacular but tiring, journey through time.

I had no prior idea that my last posting would have caused such a commotion of emotion.

I once accused Gert of “ontological genocide” for two reasons:
1 – Because I honestly believe it to be true.
2- For the satisfaction of knowing Gert would immediately Google the word “ontological” to find out what it means.

By denying one’s right to exist, you condone the termination of that existence.
By embracing racism in all its adjectives and derivatives, one tacitly consents to having a Congolese Pygmy called Ota Benga be exhibited in the monkey house in the New York Zoo in 1904.
And in line with this programme of eugenics, the Nazi’s deliberate dehumanization of the Jew, made wholesale extermination all the easier.
The exclusive and selective denial to the right of a Jewish homeland is a green flag to suicide bombers, terrorist attacks, and Kassam and Grad rocket fire into Israel.

  87. Nick
you lost me on ontological too, however when I wiki-ed it I immediately realised that you know what its menaing, while when I looked up Gert on reductionist I found that, as was to be expected, he is papperlapapping way beyond his means.

i.e. being of the wiki-dependent crowd myself I feel very very gratified whenever I can prove to myself that my gut feelings as to who uses vocabulary he is in command of and who brags are trustworthy.

Of course I hope that this my complimenting you will drive Daniel mad with resentment ;-)

as to his lesson in history though I liked his establishing his having roots quite a bit and cherished the way it reminded me of Salomon’s song and a book by Shulamit Lapid I once read and another one by Stefan Heym etc. etc. none of them bad company.

  88. Adam:

Your write as if the Jews who had survived in Europe should have done everything in their power to prevent themselves being drawn to the Jewish homeland, and stayed amongst those who had just tried to annihilate them.

Once again you’re simply reading into what I write what you want to read. I said no such thing.

Fact: only a third of Jews actually live in Israel.

Fact: prior to the Holocaust the overwhelming majority of Jews were opposed to Zionism.

Fact: you’ve got shit for brains.

Fact: I’m now unsubscribing from this thread. ‘Nuff time wasted on you.

  89. Adam

when Gert says “I said no such thing” you should translate it into “you have been spot on”

as to “shit for brains” that is a perfect example of what psychos call projection.

or what the common German is familiar with as “Du mußt nicht von Dir auf andre schließen” = don’t conclude that others are like you.

Also he is a disgrace to the profession of chemists, never mind my feelings about the limitations my colleagues suffer from, they are, even when into number-crunching, way above what Gert is supplying who I think by now is insisting on the plain lie that Jeffrey is J.J. in the hope that it will draw traffic to his stuff and thus maybe open opportunities for monetizing the thing now that his cleaner’s job seems to have gone down the drain and the cake baking way above his mental capacities.

BTW in his latest piece it looks like he has again taken my advice to insert his “wisdoms” in his copy and pasting as if anybody would care to read it except maybe Greg Potemkin whose moniker recently has acquired a totally new relevance.

  90. NoNaziBoycotts, I was very touched by what you wrote – thank you. Never forget that although there are lots of hateful Gerts around, there are also lots of friends – the haters just shout louder.

Gert, you always revert to coarse language when cornered – what a class act. And then you announce your departure with a dramatic flourish – how childish. And you STILL haven’t answered the question. Come on Gert, is it really that tough? From WHOM is it occupied? Surely such a towering intellect as you would have no trouble answering?

  91. Adam
we could amuse ourselves by taking bets whether Gert returns on this threat or takes time out to recuperate till the next Ahava one.

My bet is on Gert sticking to his promise
    - if I lose I will send another sum to Michael Totten’s account.

  92. I’m sorry to report that Gert has relapsed into his bad ol’ habits and cut and paste a whole post from another blog

no decent blog I know of does such a thing which makes me conclude that those who have friends like Gert must like to be taken uncivil advantage of

which he found through another nutter

he must have given up on NOT monetizing his blog the way he sucks up to his ilk

  93. I think he’s gone Silke, hoping I drop my question. I won’t of course.

  94. I look forward to meeting you again, Adam, it’s been a real pleasure
in the meantime here is my justification for meddling, even though I am not a journalist and I am left i.e. socialist only as defined by Orwell

    http://nickcohen.net/2010/06/07/homage-to-pilar-rahola/

I am not Jewish. Ideologically I am left and by profession a journalist. Why am I not anti- Israeli like my colleagues? Because as a non-Jew I have the historical responsibility to fight against Jewish hatred and currently against the hatred for their historic homeland, Israel . To fight against anti-Semitism is not the duty of the Jews, it is the duty of the non-Jews.

  95. richardmillett

    Thanks for quoting that, Silke.

  96. thanks Richard for that one
I hope you realize what that turns you to in the regard of Gert the …
    insert what you like best

Mad crazy or mad angry. I can do either.

  99. Mad crazy or mad angry. Daniel
whatever makes you gnash your teeth harder is OK by me
